Government
Weatherford has a Council/Manager form of government with an elected mayor and
four at-large council members serving staggered two-year terms. Town officials

Parks & Recreation
Weatherford Parks and Recreation is committed to enriching the quality of life
through exceptional programs, parks and facilities. With over 300 acres of
parkland, 2 community centers and a city pool available in Weatherford, citizens
have a variety of recreational experiences. Parks and Recreation has a variety
of programs throughout the year for adults and children of all ages, including a
Valentine’s Dance, KidFish and a summer concert series.
The Parks and Recreation Department is also in charge of two of Weatherford’s
top attractions.
Chandor Gardens was built by famed English portrait artist Douglas
Chandor. The Gardens capture both the elegance of a formal English garden and
the ornate design of Chinese architecture. From the 30-foot waterfall to
soothing fountains, from a bowling green to secret hideaways, Chandor Gardens

First Monday Trade Days is held on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday before
the first Monday of each month. The grounds are located on several acres in the
heart of Weatherford. Hundreds of merchants come to sell their wares of
antiques, arts, crafts, food and fun and hundreds more come to buy! Click here

Library
The Weatherford Public Library provides reference and referral services,
interlibrary loan, reader advisory, historical and genealogical research
assistance, educational support, adult and children’s programs and a pleasant
environment for study, research and leisure reading. The library is also home to
a genealogy center for those interested in researching their Parker County
ancestors. |
